FIELD TRIP NEWS:
Our field trip was a HUGE success!  We learned a lot about the Kid's Food Basket organization and unpacked over 8,000 packages for Nutter Butter Cookies.  The kids worked extremely hard for a great cause.  It was incredible to see their teamwork and determination.  We also have over 1,000 Sack Supper bags that we will decorate at Bauer to donate back to Kid's Food Basket.  We are hoping other Bauer students will help us too.  Don't miss the pictures below of our time at Kid's Food Basket and the bowling alley!
Thank you to all of the parents that joined us for the day!  We loved spending the day with you!!!

Also, we donated 85 items to Kid's Food Basket just from our classroom!  Thank you for all of the donations of crackers, cereal, and pretzels.  It will all be put to good use.  We saw exactly how it will be used today!

READING:
We continued to read fairy tales this week.  As readers, we read to determine the author's message (the most important lesson the author tried to show throughout the story).  Here is our extensive list of lesson we learned as we read a variety of fairy tales.

MATH:
Next week we will spend two days reviewing for our Unit 6 Math test.  The final assessment will be on Wednesday, May 2.  This assessment will cover picture graphs and bar graphs, telling time to the nearest five minute interval, distinguishing the difference between AM and PM, one step word problems, and two step word problems.  Please look for a review test coming home at the beginning of next week.
