Meet Mrs. VanDenend

Hi!  My name is Jill VanDenend and I am a second grade teacher at Bauer Elementary.  This is my sixteenth year teaching here at Bauer!  I am very excited to teach 2nd grade this year.  Teaching has always been a passion of mine.  It is such a blessing to be able to touch the lives of children.

Here is a little bit about myself:
I went to Calvin College.  Go Knights!  Since then I have received my Master's degree from Marygrove College.  I have been married to my husband, Brad, for 13 years.  He is a social worker at two middle schools in Kentwood through D.A. Blodgett-St. John's.  We have two beautiful daughters, Karson, who is 6 and Braylon, who is 4.  Karson will be a first grader and Braylon will be going into preschool.  Both girls will be learning how to speak, read, and write in Spanish at school.  In my spare time, you may find me playing games, jogging, shopping at Target, or spending time with family and friends!

I am looking forward to showing my passion for learning with my students. This is going to be a great year!  Enjoy this blog, and be sure to check it often for updates.  I will be posting newsletters and important information about our classroom.  I will also post pictures of us learning and having fun in school.
