Summer Reading Opportunities

I am so thrilled with all of the progress my students have made in second grade!  It is so exciting!  Although summer is a great time to relax and have fun, it’s also a good time to keep up those reading skills we have learned this year.  Here are some websites that will provide good reading practice for your children!
The first link is a summer reading program from Barnes and Noble.  Your child will complete a reading log and can turn it in for free books!  Here is the link for this program.
The second link is a website called Read Works.  You will need to register, but it is free.  This website has great stories for children entering third grade.  The following link will lead you to stories you can print along with questions and activities.
The last link is a valuable website for leveling books.  If you want to know what reading level a certain book is, you can refer to this website!
Many local libraries are also offering reading programs with fun prizes!  I hope this information is helpful for you to keep your child reading over the summer!
