We are officially done with Scholastic Reading Counts in 2nd grade! Congratulations to all of the students that were able to read 30 books this session. I am very proud of their dedication to their reading! Your child will not have an SRC reading assignment for the rest of the year; however, please continue to have your child read at home on a regular basis. Also, look for a new reading challenge coming home next week.
Thank you to all of the parents that chaperoned our field trip on Thursday! We had a beautiful day and the students learned a lot about plants. I heard many 2nd graders say they wanted to stay longer at the gardens! After lunch, students had time to explore the children's garden in their small groups. Each group was in charge of taking a picture in their favorite spot, a spot where they learned something new, a beautiful or interesting plant, a favorite sculpture, and in the maze.
