April 16: Newsletter

Don't miss the note in your child's Friday folder regarding our upcoming field trip!!!  I would love to have 6-8 chaperones for this day.  I hope you can join us for the fun!

Wednesday was Wear the Words Wednesday!  Many students wore t-shirts that were covered with motivational sayings.  We had so much fun looking at all of the t-shirts and connecting the sayings to the 7 Habits.

Happy Spring Break!

I will not be sending an official newsletter this week.  I hope you have a wonderful spring break!  Enjoy the time with family and friends.  I will be excited to see the second graders on the 13th and hear all about their spring break adventures. 

• I did not send any new math homework this week.  Enjoy the week off!
• Today you will find a math test, science test, and word study test in your child's Friday folder.  Please don't miss them!  You will want to see your child's great work!!!
• We are now in desperate need of more Kleenex boxes.  If you are willing to send in a box or two, we would GREATLY appreciate it!
• As part of our lead time on Wednesday, April 15, I am asking the students to wear clothing that has motivational and/or inspiring words on it.  This is completely optional!  We have been reading quotes all year long that remind us about being leaders.  I often notice their clothing has similar messages on it.  We will spend time on that Wednesday reading our shirts to inspire us to be leaders!

Habit Assembly

Last Friday, the 2nd graders were in charge of presenting at our school-wide habit assembly.  The assembly was about Habit #4...Think Win-Win.  We put together a video to share at the assembly.

We are famous!!!

And the winning movie is...

Do you love birds?  If you are like me then you must like birds!  So I have the perfect movie for you!  In Rio 2 this family goes on an adventure to the jungle!

The first reason I like Rio 2 is because of the music.  It plays one of my favorite movie songs called, "Welcome to Rio!"  Whoever sings it has a very nice voice.  They play the song in the middle and at the end when they tell who created it.  The song isn't supper loud.   It's soothing.

Another reason I like Rio 2 is because of the animation.  I like it because when they play my favorite song, it looks like a pop-up movie!  It shows the birds going all around the world!!  It even looks like the birds are flying.  It is pretty cool.

The last reason I like Rio 2 is because it's funny.  For example, the birds do funny things like making pancakes in a house and playing soccer in the air.  Plus, they play soccer not with a ball, but with a nut!  Isn't that funny?  It is to me!

If you have ever seen Rio, then you are going to LOVE Rio 2!  They both are adventures and have birds in them.  So you NEED to watch this movie next time you can!!
